The L-A31-V digital control unit offers a comprehensive, state-of-the-art solution for the protection and control of pump systems, particularly in the field of drinking and service water supply.

Its precise monitoring and control of pump parameters ensures long-term efficiency and safety. The control unit is equipped with an advanced pressure sensor that replaces conventional pressure switches, which are prone to failure. This enables precise and reliable pressure monitoring with a highly accurate setting of up to 0.1 bar. As soon as the water pressure reaches the preset switch-on value, the control unit activates the pump. The pump runs until the switch-off pressure is reached.

The L-A31-V control unit can control and protect one pump with a motor output of 0.75 to 15 kW and a supply voltage of 400 V. It displays all relevant pump parameters and operating information on a digital LCD display and provides precise information about the cause of the fault in the event of an error.

Protective functions and additional features

  • Motor protection: Continuously monitors the pump and protects it from overload and thermal damage through integrated protection mechanisms
  • Protection against overvoltage and undervoltage: The control unit protects the pump against extreme voltage fluctuations by automatically switching off if the voltage is too high or too low to prevent damage
  • Audible alarm function: In the event of overpressure or a fault, an audible signal is triggered to immediately alert the operator to the problem
  • Phase failure protection: Detects a phase failure and prevents the pump from being switched on under unfavorable conditions
  • Incorrect phase sequence protection: Integrated monitoring protects against damage that could be caused by an incorrect phase sequence in the power supply
  • Setting options: The control unit allows a choice between automatic and manual operation, depending on the operator's requirements
  • Digital pressure setting: Both the switch-on and switch-off pressure can be precisely set digitally, as can the overpressure value, which enables precise adjustment to the respective requirements
  • LCD display: The high-resolution LCD display provides a detailed display of the last five faults as well as the pump's operating data, such as pressure, running time and pump status
  • External fault indication: A de-energized contact for fault indication enables integration into an external alarm system for remote monitoring
  • Automatic calibration: During initial commissioning, the control unit automatically calibrates the pump parameters, which minimizes installation work and enables fast commissioning
  • Pressure switch replacement: The pressure sensor replaces the conventional pressure switch and offers a more accurate and reliable solution for pressure monitoring
  • Protection class IP54: The device is protected against dust and splash water in accordance with protection class IP54, which enables it to be used in demanding environments
  • Modbus RS485: Thanks to the Modbus RS485 interface, the control unit can be easily integrated into existing automation and remote monitoring systems
